Retirement should be fun, which is why assisted living activities are a huge benefit for those living in a community. Instead of spending their days staring at a clock, residents at Judson Meadows enjoy daily opportunities to build skills, cultivate friendships, and discover new hobbies.
We understand that assisted living activities are an important part of life in senior living situations. Having easy access to hobbies and fun things to do helps residents foster a sense of independence and dignity.
It can also provide structure and normalcy while helping to reduce loneliness, depression, and anxiety.
Activities for assisted living residents aren’t just a nice perk — they are an essential opportunity for residents to live full, satisfying lives.

Extensive Events & Activities
The staff at Judson Meadows understands that the events and activities offered can have a tremendously positive impact on residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
But just as every resident is unique, so are their interests. The community’s activities director works closely with the nursing staff to gain an understanding of the limitations, capabilities, and interests of residents. The result is a varied and extensive monthly menu of activities to pique residents’ interests.
Some examples of the activities assisted living residents enjoy include:
- Movies (afternoons and evenings)
- Chair aerobics
- Gardening
- Walking groups
- “This Day in History” gatherings
- Religious services
- Crafts
- Themed music or travel videos
- Word games
- Brain teasers
- Exercise groups
- Reserved times for families to Skype or Zoom with residents
- Shopping at local stores
- Live entertainment
- Bird watching
- Book club
Our Emphasis on Safety & Building Relationships
Not only do we believe that activities help residents maintain a high quality of life, but we also strive to create an inclusive community that supports individual preferences while keeping everyone safe and healthy.
We don’t hesitate to take all the necessary precautions to maintain the health and safety of residents, staff, and family members.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we followed every precaution mandated by the New York State Department of Health, and we continue to take the safety of residents seriously.
With safety always in mind, we continue to build strong, healthy relationships with community members through outings, guest speakers, and more.
